We hoped to have our annual Holiday party as an outdoor-only event this coming Monday, December 14th. Unfortunately, with evening temperatures forecast for the mid to low 40s, that would make for an uncomfortable event. And, with the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, many people may not feel comfortable with an indoor gathering.

Christmas Lights Ride

The Board, in trying to be respectful of the health and well-being of all our members. has decided the Club will wait for warmer temperatures to schedule a relatively short-notice Christmas Lights ride, hopefully followed by an outdoor beverage for all who are comfortable with gathering.

We will watch the forecast and if we see an evening with temperatures at least in the 50s, we’ll schedule the ride. We realize a short-notice or “pop-up” lights ride is not ideal, but many of you may have fewer holiday events than normal, so we’ll give it a try.

Other News

  • You can hold over any points you would have claimed in December until the January meeting.
  • The Hyperthreads order should be completed by early next week, and will (hopefully) ship from their US distribution center on or shortly after December 19th.
  • We are still encouraging Mirage members to donate blood through the Carter Bloodcare Center. And remember, they are offering free COVID-19 Antibody testing for all blood donors at this time.  You can schedule through https://www.carterbloodcare.org/ . Team members who donate during the month of December will be awarded 2 points.
  • Normally the last day of voting for Club Officers is at the Mirage Party. However, since we are not having our December meeting/party, if you wish to cast a ballot, yu can do so or before December 14th by e-mailing dsywakguy1@sbcglobal.net.

Thank you to all, and we hope that we’ll be able to meet up for an impromptu Christmas Lights ride sometime this month.  In the meantime have a happy and safe holiday season! We hope 2021 sees an opportunity for renewed gatherings, more group riding and a quick decline in the pandemic.

Ride well!
