Overall Ride Info

The information below is a list of rides that leave from the White Rock Lake area and are simply a part of the East Dallas cycling culture. If you have any updates/corrections/additions to this ride information please send contact us via our Contact Us page. This information is provided “as is” and we cannot guarantee the accuracy of any information on list.

All rides below typically follow some version of the Sunnyvale/Ray Hubbard loop route. These rides are not officially sanctioned Mirage rides although you will see many of our club riders participating in them. THESE RIDES ARE NOT NO DROP RIDES. Please be advised to learn the routes in advance or ride with someone who knows the routes.

Weekday Evening Rides

This ride typically occurs during Daylight Savings time between April and October.

Wednesday Ride 6:00pm
Leaving the Bike Mart Garland Road location at 6:00pm. It’s approximately 35-42 miles on the South Loop depending on the amount of sunlight. It’s a STEADY TEMPO RIDE!!! No attacks. Speeds can reach 18-20 mph. This is NOT a No Drop ride so please know the route. Bring lights and a helmet.

Please don’t show up and try to show everyone your dazzling attack strategies or how you can pull through and ramp up the pace 5 mph. If you want a nice steady midweek ride, show up and play nice. If you need/want some other kind of workout, please go elsewhere.

Weekend Morning Rides

These rides are leaderless and generally occur year round weather permitting.

Saturday & Sunday 7:30/9:00AM
Leaving from the corner of St. Francis and Forest Hills. This is a fast paced ride of approximately 50 miles that can be cut short or extended. The route leaves the White Rock Lake area, continues east to Mesquite & Sunnyvale along the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. The route contains some rolling and steep hills plus fast flat sections. Average speed is 20+ mph.

In the summer, the ride leaves at 7:30 to avoid the heat and in the fall and winter the ride shifts to 9:00AM to take advantage of warmer later morning temperatures. This ride is generally for faster, more experienced riders, but novice riders do attend to advance and test their fitness levels.

Sunday 8:30AM
Leaving from the Bike Mart Garland Road location utilizing most of the same route as the 7:30/9:00AM ride. This ride is approximately 40 miles and is a milder ride averaging 17-18 mph. It will regroup 2-3 times along the route and is a good ride for intermediate riders or riders wanting a good ride without a massive workout.

Please note group size and speed may vary depending on who shows up. These rides are leaderless, so please bring a map and/or ride with someone who you know if this is your first time. The group is pretty cordial and can break up in to smaller groups, but come prepared.

All rides leaving from Bike Mart Garland Road location will pass through the intersection of Forest Hills & St. Francis approximately 5 minutes after the start time. This is a good place to jump on if you can’t make it to the start.
